Stone Harbor Church has a spirited vision; one that strives to follow in the footsteps of the first eleven disciples to whom Jesus laid out the Great Commission: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:16-18
The Great Commission is the same today as it was almost 2,000 years ago, and like those first disciples, the time has come for us to make it a priority. Our country was founded on Christian principles, yet our contemporary culture continues to turn its back on God and has grown increasingly hostile to His Word.
At Stone HarborChurch, our vision begins at home. Then it expands to the nation and then the world. This is certainly not a slight task, but resolve is easier to muster if we let God lead the way.
Stone Harbor Church is grounded in biblical principle. We believe in the virgin birth, the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ without compromise.
Our vision includes a biblically sound core of founders, members and believers who agree that Jesus is the head of the church. We believe that from within this body of Christ, good church leadership will rise. We believe that every Christian has been blessed with unique talents and gifts that work together to strengthen the church and glorify God. Our vision has a place for biblically sound teachers who can help blaze pathways to discipleship in preparation for the mission field.
Our church has a desire to reach the young, because to them the torch will be passed. Like a lighthouse standing in the harbor, they will reflect God’s light so that future generations can find their way out of the darkness.
The vision of Stone Harbor Church includes special classes open to the public and a future Christian learning center designed to promote spiritual growth and Christian maturity. Our world vision includes planting ten new satellite churches within ten years, both within the United States and abroad, with special emphasis on South Korea, Africa and Haiti.
Some churches spotlight their building. At Stone Harbor Church we don’t want to focus on the walls, but rather breaking through those walls and mobilizing to find God’s lost sheep.
It’s the vision of Stone Harbor to bring God’s Word to every race, every religion, and every nation. We’re strapping on God’s armor. Come join us!
